On behalf of the Taiwan Woodworking Machinery Association (TWMA), I would like to extend our congratulations to Vietnamwood - the 10th Vietnam International Woodworking Industry Exhibition. Ladies and Gentlemen, Welcome to VIETNAMWOOD 2013 on behalf of VDMA, the German Woodworking Machinery Manufacturers Association! Vietnam is a land full of promising opportunities. Among many prospering industries, the Vietnamese timber industry is developing at an incredibly fast pace. With respect to limited resources, this development also bears risks and challenges. Vietnam is not undergoing this journey on its own: The timber industry can rely on strong partners that stand to its side. I'm proud to say that Germany is an important one of them. Within the "Vietnamese German Forestry Program" for instance, many activities are carried out in order to improve the efficiency and sustainability of forest management and forest industries in Vietnam. Not only the German government, but also the industry is accompanying the Vietnamese partners: German manufacturers of woodworking machinery are offering their expertise, their service, and of course their world-leading original technology. The best opportunity in Vietnam to get information about the latest woodworking equipment is VIETNAMWOOD. On behalf of the American Hardwood Export Council , I wish to extend my heartfelt congratulations o the Organizers of Vietnamwood for organizing yet again another successful woodworking exhibition and the success of the development of the furniture and wood products processing industries in Vietnam. Vietnamwood has been an important trade show for wood based industry in Vietnam accelerated by the rapid expansion of the furniture and, and wood processing industries and the increasing domestic demand of timber products for interior design and decoration. It provides a platform and networking opportunity for the timber products processors as well as the timber suppliers. AHEC and the US hardwood pavilion features over 2516 AHEC members from USA will exhibit in the Vietnamwood to showcase the diverse and sustainable US hardwood products. The pavilion scale is the largest ever in Southeast Asia which has demonstrated the importance of the Vietnamese market for US hardwood exporters. While furniture export to US has been increasing in the past years, US hardwood exports to your country reached US$1750million in 20102 ranked number 1 in Southeast Asia and ranked second biggest importer of US hardwood in the world. On behalf of AHEC I welcome the trade show visitors and exhibitors to visit the AHEC booth at the Vietnamwood to learn more about the diverse and sustainable hardwood products from USA.
